What you will do

  • Repair, sharpen, inspect, test, and maintain surgical instruments with guidance from senior technicians.
  • Troubleshoot instrument issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Perform on-site service at healthcare customer locations and complete repairs accurately and on schedule.
  • Build customer relationships, provide service recommendations, and support Sales teams in the territory.
  • Complete work orders, service documentation, customer reports, and records.
  • Follow ISO, FDA, quality, safety, and healthcare customer access requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience repairing, machining, or handling delicate metal instruments.
  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel to customer locations, and work overtime or adjusted schedules when needed.
  • Must reside in Central Connecticut and meet applicable healthcare customer credentialing, screening, immunization, and vaccination requirements.

Nice to have

  • Technical, vocational, or associate degree.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, sterile processing, manufacturing, or mechanical repair.
  • Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and Sterile Processing Department operations.
