Associate Field Service Engineer (Medical Diagnostics)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. Remote work from home within the assigned territory, with up to 90% driving and/or air travel, including overnight stays.

Salary: $32.00–$34.00 per hour, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Support installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diagnostic instruments.
• Help maintain instrument performance, customer uptime, and reliable diagnostic workflows.
• Communicate with customers, provide timely follow-up, and follow quality and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers, technical support, applications, and commercial teams to resolve technical issues.
• Travel extensively across the assigned territory, including overnight stays.

Requirements

• 0–1 years of experience in a technical field; an associate degree is preferred.
• Foundational troubleshooting capability in mechanical, electrical, electronic, laboratory, biomedical, or instrumentation systems.
• Clear communication with customers and internal teams, with the ability to develop independent field-service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to travel by air and/or car up to 90%, including overnight stays.
• Ability to lift, move, or place up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform prolonged standing, walking, sitting, squatting, kneeling, stair climbing, and reaching.

Nice to have

• Experience with medical devices, laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, or electromechanical systems.
• Exposure to laboratory, hospital, clinical, biomedical, military technical, or field-service environments.
• Interest in diagnostic instrumentation, customer service, and continuous improvement.
