Senior Operations Engineer (Solar)

What you will do

• Provide engineering support for utility-scale solar projects during construction, commissioning, and operation.
• Lead or support root-cause investigations for performance, reliability, mechanical, electrical, structural, and equipment-related issues.
• Guide construction and commissioning teams, review site design packages, and verify field implementation against standards and approved engineering intent.
• Coordinate technical issue resolution with Project Engineering, Product Design, Operations & Maintenance, Sales, Quality, EPCs, contractors, owners, and suppliers.
• Prepare engineering reports and convert field lessons into corrective actions, standards, procedures, and reliability improvements.
• Review SCADA, monitoring, and Power BI data to identify trends, anomalies, and recurring technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or industrial engineering.
• Interdisciplinary experience across design, construction, commissioning, and operations, including practical mechanical or hands-on technical work.
• Strong understanding of utility-scale solar design, tracker systems, and power plant operations.
• Experience reviewing design documentation, field reports, and as-built drawings.
• Strong communication, organisation, technical documentation, prioritisation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with construction support, field troubleshooting, or Operations & Maintenance coordination.
• Familiarity with solar performance analysis tools, SCADA platforms, monitoring systems, or Power BI.
• Experience working with EPCs, contractors, and suppliers in technical support or issue-resolution roles.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering and root-cause analysis methodologies.
• Experience developing technical standards, procedures, or process improvements.
