Senior Manager, Vehicle Systems (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, NC or Novi, MI; 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings and occasional travel are required.

Base salary: $160,000–$210,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead functional safety strategy, governance, processes, and performance indicators across the vehicle.
• Own feature and function requirements quality, failure analysis, repository practices, and process discipline.
• Govern system interfaces and integration readiness across hardware, software, controls, and connectivity.
• Manage system-level constraints involving compute, timing, power, performance, and reliability.
• Build, mentor, and scale multidisciplinary system and feature teams.
• Establish engineering governance, design reviews, technical decision frameworks, and cross-functional escalation processes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience.
• Expertise in automotive system and platform development, modeling, electrical architecture, ECU software stacks, and the early System V lifecycle.
• Experience with functional safety, diagnostics, automotive cybersecurity, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, UDS, A2B, and LVDS.
• Experience with Cameo/MagicDraw, MATLAB/Simulink, hardware-in-the-loop testing, dSPACE ControlDesk, and AutomationDesk.
• Strong knowledge of Jira, GitHub or GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ALM/PLM tools including Polarion, DOORS Next, or Windchill.
• Background delivering reusable vehicle platforms and working with autonomous vehicles, robotics, advanced mobility, cloud-connected embedded systems, and DevOps pipelines.
