New Grad Mechanical Engineer (Defense)

Salary: $105,000–$110,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and develop subsystem-level mechanical hardware from CAD concepts through functional prototypes and mass production.
• Integrate mechanical systems with sensors, actuators, and embedded control hardware.
• Lead hands-on testing, design validation, and hardware iteration based on performance feedback.
• Drive manufacturability, part selection, tolerance stack-ups, and scalable production decisions.
• Apply thermal, structural, and materials fundamentals to create robust, lightweight designs.
• Develop test plans, technical documentation, engineering reviews, analytical models, simulations, and trade studies.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of mechanical engineering design and prototyping experience in a professional, academic, or hobby setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Graduation with a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD by December 2026 or January 2027.
• Intermediate proficiency with 3D modeling and CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or C++ for analytical modeling, simulation, and engineering problem-solving.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and may need authorization to access technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without sponsorship for an export license.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with lightweight materials, composites, or additive manufacturing.
• Experience with FEA or multiphysics software.
• Knowledge of aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, or thermal management.
