What you will do

  • Develop mechanisms and mechanical structures for advanced enrichment technology through requirements definition, design, development, qualification, and production release.
  • Design, prototype, test, iterate, and deploy hardware across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Optimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct thermal, vibration, shock, and durability testing.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on test failures and develop hardware mitigations.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, chemical, and nuclear engineers to integrate designs with system requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of mechanical engineering experience through projects, research, internships, or professional work.
  • Proficiency with a 3D CAD package such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX.
  • Ability to create manufacturing drawings using GD&T.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to make recommendations using first principles with partial information.
  • Experience with trade studies and technically demanding, fast-paced engineering environments.
  • Resourceful and entrepreneurial approach to completing work within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
