TL;DR
Specialist, TOE Energy System (Automotive): Supporting manufacturing, testing, launches, and validation of electric vehicle energy systems with an accent on high-voltage batteries, power electronics, thermal management, and HVAC. Focus on determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, troubleshooting vehicle systems, and transferring lessons learned into product optimization and series production.

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

  • Act as the on-site technical liaison between Energy System Product Engineering and Manufacturing at the Columbia/Blythewood facility.
  • Coordinate activities covering high-voltage batteries, onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, thermal management systems, and HVAC.
  • Determine root causes of production-center issues and manage short-term containment and long-term corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with product, mechanical, electrical, software, and production engineering teams.
  • Support product launches, pre-production builds, validation, troubleshooting, and technical guidance for technicians and test engineers.
  • Capture lessons learned and provide feedback for vehicle energy-system optimization and future production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, thermal, automotive, or electrical engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage battery systems, power electronics, thermal systems, and mechanical, electrical, and vehicle systems.
  • Experience with vehicle data collection tools, diagnostics, vehicle control systems, CAN, LIN, and hardware interfaces.
  • Ability to use thermal analysis software and CAD tools, and to read, interpret, and generate engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and self-management skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with ANSYS, Fluent, COMSOL, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
