Head of East Africa (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based in Nairobi, Dubai, or London; international travel required periodically and on an ad-hoc basis

What you will do

• Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and growth plan for East African sending and receiving markets.
• Own market growth, profitability, pricing, customer acquisition and retention, product quality, and customer experience.
• Manage P&L performance and report growth, operational, and financial insights to executive leadership.
• Build relationships with diaspora communities, banks, regulators, disbursal partners, and commercial stakeholders.
• Recommend product improvements based on market, competitor, and customer research.
• Hire, lead, develop, and coach a diverse multi-regional team.

Requirements

• Preference for a Nairobi, Dubai, or London base.
• Ability to travel internationally periodically and on an ad-hoc basis to meet partners, regulators, stakeholders, and customers.
• Experience building, developing, managing, and leading multi-regional teams.
• Understanding of the East African regulatory landscape; financial regulation experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
• 7–15 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment such as a startup, operations, consulting, or finance.

• Experience with financial regulation in East Africa.
• Strong understanding of East African diaspora communities.
