Senior Staff Engineer, Technology Development Engineering (PFA/EFA)

Location: Onsite at the Penang SDSM Office in Batu Kawan, Malaysia

What you will do

• Perform detailed electrical and physical failure analysis to isolate faults in memory devices.
• Use advanced failure-analysis tools, including SEM, FIB, nanoprobing, and OBIRCH, for defect localization and characterization.
• Interpret circuit schematics and layouts and collaborate with product and design engineers on complex cases.
• Work with design, process integration, reliability, and product engineering teams to improve product reliability, yield, test coverage, and RMA outcomes.
• Develop failure models, prepare evidence-based reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Own and improve FA tools, procedures, methodologies, and laboratory capabilities while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• PhD or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and electronic circuits.
• Extensive knowledge in several advanced technical areas of failure analysis.
• Ability to execute complex, specialized technical projects or assignments.
• Excellent writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills; detail-oriented and organized.
