TL;DR
Data Analyst - Fraud (SQL/Python): Investigating fraud attacks, quantifying their impact, and building dashboards and reporting for fraud trends, rule performance, and operational metrics with an accent on complex SQL analysis, rule-based mitigations, and cross-functional decision-making. Focus on identifying emerging fraud patterns, designing effective mitigations, and translating analytical findings into action with fraud operations, engineering, data science, and product teams.

What you will do
- Investigate fraud attacks, quantify their impact, and present findings that guide prioritisation and response.
- Propose and refine rule-based fraud mitigations with fraud operations and engineering teams.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting for fraud trends, rule performance, and operational metrics.
- Collaborate with fraud operations, data scientists, engineers, product managers, and senior leadership.
- Identify emerging fraud patterns and flag risks before they escalate.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst (Fraud) or in a similar role, with demonstrated accomplishments considered as an alternative.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex queries across large datasets.
- Experience in fraud, risk, or financial services and knowledge of fraud mitigation trade-offs.
- Experience with Python or scripting for data manipulation and analysis.
- Proficiency with a BI tool such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, Superset, or Redash, as well as a spreadsheet tool such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, plus strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with data governance.
- Experience with Git or another version control tool.
- Additional scripting experience.
