Staff Reliability Engineer (Power Electronics)

What you will do

• Own product reliability activities from development and qualification through production launch and early fleet deployment.
• Develop reliability program plans, goals, design reviews, milestone assessments, and risk communications.
• Lead DFMEA, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, design margin evaluations, and reliability risk mitigation across electrical, thermal, mechanical, cooling, insulation, and electromechanical systems.
• Define and coordinate reliability validation across laboratories, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and external test facilities.
• Lead reliability growth through EVT, DVT, PVT, and pilot builds, reviewing results and product readiness.
• Investigate validation failures, customer returns, production escapes, and warranty issues while driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is required.
• 12+ years of experience in Product Reliability, Design for Reliability, or Reliability Engineering for complex electrical or electromechanical products.
• Experience with power conversion, industrial electronics, or other high-reliability products.
• Strong knowledge of DFMEA, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Accelerated Life Testing, Reliability Growth, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and supporting supplier qualification, manufacturing readiness, and product introduction.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy systems, industrial power electronics, EV power electronics, or similar products.
• Familiarity with outdoor power conversion systems, thermal management, cooling systems, and passive components.
• Experience with ReliaSoft, ANSYS Sherlock, Windchill Quality Solutions, or equivalent reliability analysis tools.
• Certified Reliability Engineer certification or equivalent.
