Senior Reliability Engineer - Power Electronics

What you will do

• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to establish component- and system-level reliability targets for power electronics and battery systems.
• Provide Design for Reliability input during new product development.
• Lead Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) to identify performance risks and define mitigation activities.
• Develop accelerated life testing reliability plans for components and subsystems using reliability targets and physics-of-failure methods.
• Track field reliability metrics, including part replacements, customer complaints, and fault codes, and support warranty analysis with the finance team.
• Lead failure analysis of reliability tests and field returns, determining root causes and implementing containment and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or an equivalent field.
• Proven experience solving complex reliability failures in power electronics.
• Working knowledge of inverter and buck-boost converter topologies.
• Deep understanding of physics of failure and failure mechanisms affecting PCBAs and power electronics components such as MOSFETs, capacitors, and inductors.
• Experience with optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning, and EDX for failure analysis.
• Experience with accelerated life testing models, reliability statistics, and testing of PCBAs, battery storage systems, and mechanical structures.
