Product Quality Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Manchester, UK. Occasional travel is required. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

What you will do

• Own complaint handling for an assigned product group and support customer requests.
• Drive structured problem-solving activities, including 8D investigations, root cause analysis, containment actions, and sustainable corrective measures.
• Monitor quality improvement actions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Document, analyse, and evaluate quality data related to reliability, yield, FMEA, and customer requirements.
• Support product qualification activities and ensure compliance with hirify.global, AEC, and customer-specific quality procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of semiconductor devices and applications.
• Knowledge of quality and reliability standards such as AEC-Q101 and structured problem-solving methods including 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Why.
• Familiarity with measurement methods, equipment, and device testing environments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including coordination across functions and cultures.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, and willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with wafer fabrication and assembly processes.
• Experience working with Small Signal MOSFETs.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical methods, such as Weibull analysis.
• German language skills.
