Fleet Specialist (IoT Hardware)

Location: Palmerston North, New Zealand, with regular travel across the South Island and New Zealand. The role is listed as remote but requires frequent field work, including 3–4 days on the road per week and up to 3 nights away from home per week.

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, upgrade, and improve the reliability of on-farm infrastructure.
• Diagnose hardware issues and communicate actionable findings to hardware, product, and customer success teams.
• Deploy towers, collars, and other equipment on farms, providing on-site troubleshooting and installation support.
• Participate in the global on-call roster for tower-related incidents and resolve technical problems promptly.
• Collect and analyze hardware data to optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and prevent issues.
• Develop and manage a maintenance system for the New Zealand market.

Requirements

• Practical, hands-on experience with tools, electrical work, construction, networking, equipment fitting, or similar technical tasks.
• Strong problem-solving ability, resourcefulness, and willingness to handle varied field operations.
• Proactive approach and ability to work independently without extensive technical training.
• Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks on schedule.
• Strong collaboration skills across teams and locations.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout New Zealand, including spontaneous and planned trips.
