Field Operations & Sensor Installation Specialist (IoT)

Location: Permanent work from home; schedule aligned with client business hours in Melbourne, VIC (AEST), with occasional flexibility for global support across time zones.

What you will do

• Lead remote technical commissioning with on-site licensed electricians installing and cabling 3D stereo-vision sensors.
• Configure IP addresses, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, port forwarding, and DHCP to integrate sensor hardware and gateways into client networks.
• Work with retailer IT departments to obtain network credentials, meet security policies, and resolve network access issues.
• Calibrate sensors through height mapping, zone definition, and direction-flow configuration to achieve sub-centimetre accuracy.
• Validate live traffic-counting data, adjust sensor parameters against project KPIs, and confirm accurate dashboard data.
• Document installation parameters, calibration settings, network configurations, and hardware serial numbers, then provide escalated remote troubleshooting and handover support.

Requirements

• Strong technical background in network configuration, including IP addressing, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs, and/or IoT hardware commissioning.
• Experience calibrating and validating sensors or hardware, ideally in computer vision, IoT, or a similar technical environment.
• Ability to liaise directly with client IT departments and resolve network access issues.
• Strong documentation discipline and familiarity with project management systems such as Asana.
• Excellent problem-solving and real-time adjustment skills for meeting project KPIs.
• Clear communication skills for translating technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
