Specialist, Mechanical Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical systems and components for automotive production.
• Perform stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics analyses using CAD and engineering software.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, manufacturing, and production engineering teams.
• Create and review mechanical drawings, specifications, manuals, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
• Analyze failures, troubleshoot automated equipment and complex stations, and implement corrective actions.
• Support safety assessments, inspections, audits, operator training, and technical knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in automotive production, production equipment, and stable manufacturing processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Ability to understand mechanical assemblies, conveyor systems, complex stations, and automated equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, coaching, and project-management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SAP PM Plant Maintenance.
• Experience integrating new manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems in an assembly environment.
