Manager, Software Engineering (Java/Kotlin)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; hybrid work schedules

Salary: $195,000–$210,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and empower a growing team of software engineers, including other people managers.
• Guide delivery of hirify.global’s Engagement Platform across multiple business units and operating companies.
• Drive estimation, planning, and iterative delivery for multiple cross-platform projects.
• Shape and execute the team’s vision, strategy, and engineering roadmap.
• Collaborate with global business users, product managers, and cross-functional technical teams across time zones.
• Improve team performance, engineering practices, and delivery outcomes in a distributed environment.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in the software development industry.
• At least 2 years of people management experience, including management of multiple teams or a larger team.
• Experience building, maintaining, and deploying internal business applications and highly available services.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies, and delivering microservices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and technical decision-making skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with experience using agile development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or React Native.
