Salary: $110,000–$160,000 per year

Company

hirify.global is developing commercial fusion energy using stellarator physics and computer-controlled arrays of planar coils for its Eos system.

What you will do

  • Conceive, deploy, and iteratively refine plasma diagnostics for the Eos planar coil stellarator.
  • Define measurement requirements for scenario development and nuclear DD beam-target fusion operational phases.
  • Develop instrument concepts, spatial layouts, technical requirements, and facility allocations.
  • Design and execute diagnostic calibration, validation, and experimental campaigns.
  • Collaborate with plasma control, physics, and engineering teams to integrate diagnostics into Eos.
  • Document technical outcomes and coordinate external research and development collaborations.

Requirements

  • M.S. or PhD in Plasma Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience developing and operating experimental fusion plasma diagnostics.
  • Experience managing diagnostics from concept through commissioning and routine operation.
  • Familiarity with Thomson scattering, X-ray spectroscopy, ECE, microwave interferometry, fast-ion diagnostics, or magnetic field measurements.
  • Experimental proficiency in instrument calibration, advanced signal processing, and data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.

Nice to have

  • PhD in experimental plasma physics.
  • Engineering knowledge for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Commitment to developing commercially viable fusion energy products.

Culture & Benefits

  • Multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment focused on fusion energy development.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Employee equity stock options.
  • 20 days of paid time off.
  • Equal opportunity workplace committed to diversity and inclusion.
