Senior Backend Engineer (L3) - Trading (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate services for quoting, pricing, spread application, and trade lifecycle management.
• Own features end-to-end, from scoping and technical design through delivery, rollout, adoption, and operational health.
• Build reliable, low-latency trade-path systems with retries, idempotency, safe recovery, logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Expose trading capabilities through GUI, public API, and conversational AI with clean, stable contracts.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, and Hedging to connect technical work to payment volume and revenue.
• Improve engineering quality through code reviews, mentoring, technical-debt planning, on-call participation, and incident follow-up.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Professional trading background with experience building systems on a live trade or order path at a trading company, exchange, or brokerage.
• Strong system design, data modelling, API design, distributed systems, object-oriented programming, and low-level design skills.
• Production engineering experience with observability, complex-system debugging, performance tuning, and incident response.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into scoped deliverables, take ownership, and work independently.
• Strong written communication, data-driven decision-making, practical use of AI coding tools, and readiness to work in an async-heavy distributed environment.

• Experience with pricing, quoting, or spread engines.
• Experience with FX, multi-currency systems, or cross-border payments.
• Experience with market data, order books, or market microstructure.
