Software Engineer Intern (Trading Systems)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; fully on-site during summer 2027

What you will do

• Develop low-latency, high-performance proprietary trading systems with full-time engineers and other interns.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle, including design, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Design and implement complex trading applications and ensure they meet requirements and remain testable.
• Communicate project updates and work strategies with project managers and team leadership.
• Participate in hirify.global University to learn trading fundamentals and proprietary systems.

Requirements

• College junior graduating in December 2027 or spring 2028.
• Experience developing efficient, user-friendly, and extensible programs.
• Programming experience with an object-oriented language such as C++, C#, or Java.
• Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, strong communication, and the ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to live in Chicago and attend the internship fully in person during summer 2027.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively while maintaining independent judgment and critical thinking.
