Senior Engineer, Trading Product Engineering (Java)

What you will do

• Design and deliver reusable, reliable, low-latency Java code powering the Bullish Exchange.
• Build and maintain distributed systems supporting the end-to-end order lifecycle and high-throughput trading APIs.
• Profile and resolve performance bottlenecks in the order-processing path.
• Improve code quality, system organization, automation, and operational stability as the platform scales.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and project managers across a distributed organization.

Requirements

• Strong fluency in Java 17+ and experience with performance tuning.
• Experience designing and building high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI development, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, and SDLC automation.
• Experience with middleware and messaging technologies such as Chronicle Queue, RabbitMQ, Aeron, or Kafka.
• Working knowledge of Spring or Micronaut, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC practices, and CI/CD pipelines, with ownership of exchange-critical components.

Nice to have

• Experience with order matching and orderbook generation.
• Familiarity with Options, Futures, the FIX protocol, and related workflows.
• Understanding of blockchain technologies.
