Senior Buyer for Structures (Robotics)

Location: San Carlos, CA, United States; on-site

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Execute sourcing strategies for structural commodities to optimize cost, quality, capacity, and technology.
• Manage supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Support new product introduction through supplier selection, tooling management, and production readiness.
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations.
• Drive cost reductions through supplier negotiations and value engineering.
• Build supplier partnerships and a resilient global supply base for production and future product development.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in global sourcing, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement.
• Experience supporting suppliers for mechanical or structural components and working with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
• Understanding of die casting, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, plastics, and composites.
• Experience sourcing hardware, bearings, and adhesives or consumables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, communication, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing aluminum or magnesium die castings, cosmetic components, and precision mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with DFM and DFA principles.
• Experience supporting suppliers in Asia.
• Mandarin language skills.
• Experience in consumer electronics, automotive, robotics, or similar industries.
