What you will do

• Own the selection and system design of image sensors, ISPs, video transmission components, and supporting drive electronics.
• Define optical parameters including field of view, aperture, MTF, and distortion, while managing lens sourcing and lens-to-sensor alignment.
• Establish supplier design-in criteria and manufacturing standards for calibration, gluing, tilt, sealing, active alignment, and blemish testing.
• Plan and conduct bench testing of camera samples and competitor units using repeatable test setups and acceptance criteria.
• Develop Python or similar software tools to acquire, process, and analyze test data and calculate camera performance metrics.
• Translate laboratory measurements into component-selection and supplier-acceptance decisions.

Requirements

• Familiarity with CAD; SolidWorks is preferred.
• Experience releasing parts for mass production.
• First-principles understanding of optics, image sensors, and outdoor-environment impacts on product design.
• Proficiency writing code for test automation, data analysis, and performance-metric calculation.
• Hands-on experience characterizing cameras or imagers, building or using test rigs, and interpreting MTF, SNR, dynamic range, and latency.
• Working knowledge of imaging signal flow from the imager through the ISP to digital and analog CVBS video output.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of embedded software in imager chips, ISP, and computer-vision tools.
• Experience owning a camera product from cradle to grave.
• Passion for FPV drones or related personal hobby experience.
