Senior Mechanical Engineer, Test and Reliability (Robotics)

Location: Henderson, Colorado; the role is also stated to be based in Denver, Colorado. Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and reside within the U.S.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year, plus an equity package based on experience and skills.

What you will do

• Lead reliability initiatives by analyzing failure modes, improving designs and processes, and driving corrective actions.
• Define test strategies, test plans, acceptance criteria, and pass/fail requirements for mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems.
• Design, build, and maintain reliability test fixtures and automated rigs for accelerated life testing, fatigue, thermal cycling, and environmental stress screening.
• Support field testing and debugging locally and at remote customer sites.
• Prototype electro-mechanical and pneumatic tools for robotic manipulators and automation systems.
• Design CAD parts and assemblies for robotic end effectors, tooling, and autonomous vehicle hardware while collaborating on sensing and hardware/software integration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with integrated hardware/software systems such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive, or aerospace products, including substantial test or reliability engineering experience.
• BS or MS in mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Experience designing and building test fixtures and reliability test rigs, including accelerated life testing methodologies.
• Experience with product development, design for manufacture, reliability, cost, actuators, sensors, and complex electro-mechanical or pneumatic systems.
• Experience documenting machined parts, weldments, sheet metal components, assemblies, mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or C++ for test automation or hardware-in-the-loop validation, plus hands-on rapid prototyping with basic shop equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial automation, linkage synthesis, robotic manipulator joints, PDM, and part release processes.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, sensor wiring, cable harnesses, multidisciplinary robotics teams, or systems designed for hardened environments.
