What you will do
- Analyze manufacturing processes and improve assembly sequences, tooling, automation opportunities, throughput, capacity, capability, and yield.
- Collaborate with design engineering on Design for Manufacturability and Design for Automation.
- Design tooling and fixturing that support safe, high-quality, error-free assembly.
- Create and maintain electronic work instructions, inspection steps, traceability, and data-collection procedures.
- Specify, source, deploy, and maintain automation equipment, including conveyors, actuators, robotics, inspection stations, and tooling.
- Support process development, initial production, manufacturing validation, change management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or automation in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating automation equipment, mechanical and control systems, pneumatics, motion control, and sensors.
- Experience with robotic arms, end-of-arm tooling, collaborative automation, PLCs, industrial communication protocols, and control systems.
- Strong CAD proficiency and experience designing tooling and fixturing.
- Experience with process validation, process capability, yield improvement, automation integrators, MES, SCADA, or factory data-collection tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with electromechanical product assembly or electronics manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and visual factory dashboards using IoT data.
- Proficiency with TwinCAT, Python, or similar scripting languages for automation and data acquisition.
