Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Weekend First Shift (Fri, Sat, Sun)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States. On-site. Weekend first shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 am–6:00 pm. The role requires occasional travel or work on required nights, weekends, or on-call shifts.

Salary: $121,000–$203,000 per year, including a 10% shift differential. Another listed range is $134,000–$205,000 per year. Compensation also includes equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, cost, and product quality.
• Own magnet manufacturing for the assigned shift and make real-time decisions within established guardrails, escalating issues outside defined limits.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, process flow diagrams, and other process documentation.
• Collaborate with design engineers, production staff, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Lead the design and procurement of tools, fixtures, and equipment; troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct time and motion studies, support continuous improvement, apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, evaluate automation technologies, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD and in manufacturing ERP systems.
• Ability to balance autonomy with disciplined escalation and demonstrate leadership through hands-on engagement.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform typing, standing, stooping, and sitting for extended periods.
• Dedication to safety when working around potential hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
