Lighting Design Lead

What you will do

• Own and develop hirify.global’s global lighting design standards for clinics and other locations.
• Create lighting guidance for scan rooms, consultation areas, waiting areas, circulation, and back-of-house spaces within the Location Design Playbook.
• Drive lighting innovation for next-generation scanning environments and clinic typologies.
• Provide concept-level lighting guidance on regional projects while respecting local conditions.
• Review consultant documentation and act as a brand guardian for the lighting strategy.
• Collaborate with architecture, industrial design, hardware, software, medical, operations, and external lighting consultants.

Requirements

• Degree in lighting design, architecture, interior design, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in architectural lighting design, with a portfolio showing layered, human-centred lighting across varied project types.
• Experience developing lighting standards, guidelines, or playbooks for a global, multi-site, or scaling organisation.
• Strong knowledge of LED systems, lighting controls, building management system integration, and relevant lighting standards and codes.
• Experience working with architects, interior designers, and engineering teams to integrate lighting into spatial design.
• Proficiency with lighting design software such as DIALux, Relux, or AGi32, plus familiarity with rendering tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with branded retail, hospitality, or experiential environments at scale.
• Experience developing interactive lighting solutions.
• Experience specifying and procuring lighting products for multi-site rollouts, including vendor management and cost optimisation.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency, lifecycle costs, and circular design principles in lighting.
