Electrical Technician (Fusion Energy)

Location: On-site in Zurich, with support for R&D activities in Villigen and Böttstein, Aargau, Switzerland

hirify.global develops stellarator fusion technology, high-temperature superconducting magnets, and the hardware and infrastructure for a commercial fusion power plant.

What you will do

• Assemble and wire control panels, junction boxes, cabinets, sensors, heaters, and instrumentation interfaces.
• Integrate power supplies, control panels, acquisition systems, and test equipment.
• Support electrical checks, verification, commissioning, and troubleshooting of experimental setups.
• Power and connect experimental setups, prototype rigs, and manufacturing equipment.
• Oversee electrical interventions by external contractors and support infrastructure upgrades.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance while ensuring safe, organized, and industrial-quality installations.

Requirements

• Training and practical experience as an electrician, electrical technician, or in a similar role.
• Automatiker or Elektroinstallateur EFZ Swiss vocational diploma, or an equivalent qualification.
• Good knowledge of safe electrical working practices and applicable regulations.
• Ability to produce and read electrical diagrams, size cables and protection devices, perform modifications, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Comfort working in a dynamic R&D environment with engineers, scientists, and technicians.
• Ability to work on-site in Switzerland and support facilities in Villigen and Böttstein.

Nice to have

• Driving license valid in Switzerland.
• Experience in R&D environments.
• Experience creating and updating single-line diagrams and developing power distribution networks.
• Familiarity with ECAD software.
• Experience with power supplies, low-voltage industrial systems, or control cabinets.
