Electrical Technician

Location: On-site in Switzerland, supporting R&D activities across Zurich, Villigen, and Böttstein, Aargau

hirify.global is a European fusion company developing stellarator technology, hardware, and infrastructure for a commercial fusion power plant.

What you will do

• Assemble and wire control panels, junction boxes, cabinets, sensors, heaters, and instrumentation interfaces.
• Integrate power supplies, control panels, acquisition systems, and test equipment.
• Support electrical checks, verification, commissioning, and troubleshooting of experimental setups.
• Develop, install, and connect power distribution equipment for experiments, R&D, and manufacturing equipment.
• Oversee electrical interventions by external contractors and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure installations are safe, compliant, maintainable, and consistent with industrial standards.

Requirements

• Practical training and experience as an electrician, electrical technician, or in a similar role.
• Elektroinstallateur EFZ or an equivalent qualification.
• Good knowledge of safe electrical working practices and regulations.
• Ability to develop electrical infrastructure, read and produce electrical diagrams, size cables and protection devices, perform modifications, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Ability to work closely with engineers, scientists, and technicians in a dynamic R&D environment.

Nice to have

• Qualification to act as a technically responsible person under the Swiss NIV.
• Driving license valid in Switzerland.
• Experience in R&D environments, single-line diagrams, power distribution networks, ECAD software, power supplies, low-voltage industrial systems, or control cabinets.
