TL;DR
Director, Logistics and Operations (Automotive): Leading the end-to-end Aftersales service parts ecosystem, including logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, inventory flow, supplier performance, and parts commercialization with an accent on operational scalability, profitability, and customer service readiness. Focus on optimizing transportation and distribution networks, building warehouse operations, managing service parts availability and margins, and developing risk mitigation and sustainability initiatives.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and business travel.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Define and lead the Aftersales logistics, transportation, warehouse, and service parts operating strategy.
  • Own the end-to-end service parts supply chain, including inventory flow, distribution, packaging, supplier coordination, and parts availability.
  • Develop the service parts business strategy covering pricing, revenue growth, margin management, portfolio commercialization, and business planning.
  • Optimize transportation networks and warehouse operations, including carriers, fulfillment, productivity, storage, safety, packaging, and operational standards.
  • Lead teams and external partners while managing budgets, KPIs, supplier performance, business continuity, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives by reducing waste, improving material efficiency, and optimizing transportation impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, engineering, finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, supply chain operations, service parts, or related operational leadership roles.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience managing managers, cross-functional teams, suppliers, vendors, and complex operations.
  • Strong knowledge of service parts operations, aftermarket distribution, transportation, warehouse and inventory management, pricing, margins, and commercialization.
  • Experience with third-party logistics providers, carriers, warehouse providers, packaging suppliers, and strategic supplier relationships.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing ERP, WMS, TMS, planning tools, reporting platforms, and supply chain technology.

Nice to have

  • Experience in automotive, EV, aftermarket parts, service operations, manufacturing, launch, startup, or direct-to-consumer environments.
  • German language proficiency.
