Network Specialist (Ultra Low Latency)

Location: Montreal, London, or New York

Salary: Minimum base salary of $120,000 per year when located in New York, plus potential discretionary bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect, engineer, and support the initial deployment of ultra-low-latency network infrastructure in colocation data centres.
• Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize network and security hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Provide operational control, performance reporting, procedures, and technical documentation for the global colocation environment.
• Act as an escalation point for changes across colocation sites and provide L3 support for performance and availability issues.
• Collaborate with trading systems developers to optimize the trading platform and identify automation and efficiency improvements.
• Travel may be required.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or a related information technology discipline.
• CCIE Routing & Switching certification, including the lab examination.
• At least 8 years of network engineering and project delivery experience.
• Expert knowledge of routing, switching, unicast and multicast protocols, including OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC, GRE, PIM, RP, MSDP, and IGMP.
• Authoritative experience with Arista and Cisco routing and switching hardware, L1 devices, software, network monitoring, and PCAP decoding tools.
• Proficiency in a scripting language, preferably Python, plus experience with exchange protocols, FPGA-based applications, and L1 network design.
