Senior Systems Engineer (Networking)

Location: New York, New York, United States; on-site. Must reside in the Northeastern United States region covering NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, and ME.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year, plus a results-driven commission plan. OTE is structured as 75% base pay and 25% variable compensation.

What you will do

• Represent wired, wireless, cloud management, security, surveillance, automation, and telemetry solutions.
• Lead technical sales activities from discovery and architecture design through RF planning, predictive heatmaps, bills of materials, proposals, demos, POCs, competitive evaluations, and ROI positioning.
• Design secure, scalable routing, switching, QoS, segmentation, and WLAN security solutions for indoor and outdoor deployments.
• Build relationships with channel partners, MSPs, MDUs, hospitality providers, retail, enterprise, and SLED accounts while delivering technical enablement and training.
• Present executive briefings and technical workshops, troubleshoot complex evaluation issues, and support technical wins through close.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on customer requirements, roadmap influence, technical content, and industry events.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of customer-facing pre-sales engineering or equivalent design and architecture experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on expertise in routing, switching, enterprise Wi-Fi, site surveys, WLAN design, RF planning, and performance optimization.
• Experience with IP networking, wireless, cloud, hardware, software solutions, POCs, demos, troubleshooting, CRM fundamentals, and Salesforce.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical details to non-technical and executive audiences.
• Must reside in the Northeastern United States territory and be willing to travel up to 50–60%.

Nice to have

• Networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE; Juniper JNCIA; Aruba Certified; RUCKUS RCNI or RCWA; or CWNA.
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi and RF standards, antenna propagation, Ekahau or Hamina, WLAN security, and packet capture analysis.
• Experience with IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, VRRP, VXLAN, GRE, PIM, QoS, VLANs, RADIUS, AD, IDS/IPS, and secure onboarding.
• Experience with NETCONF, REST, YANG, OpenConfig, gRPC, Python, Ansible, Linux, Docker, or Kubernetes.
