What you will do

  • Design plumbing systems, fluid components, and secondary structures for the Neutron launch vehicle.
  • Analyze fluid systems and components in dynamic launch environments and review structural analyses.
  • Model system behavior across operating conditions and improve modeling effectiveness.
  • Test, qualify, and integrate fluid hardware into the launch vehicle.
  • Manage requirements and review component, system, and vehicle test data to improve future designs.
  • Collaborate across propulsion, structures, mechanical, operations, and flight software teams; develop analysis tools, enforce engineering standards, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in a hardware-rich environment.
  • Experience designing and using fluid components including valves, pressure vessels, flex elements, and fittings.
  • Experience with DfM/DfAM, machining, welding, mechanical drafting, and GD&T.
  • For US office work, candidates must be US citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain applicable US government authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace environments and with aerospace processes, standards, and workflows such as AS9100 and JIRA.
  • Experience with oxygen, methane, or cryogenic systems.
  • Experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Advanced degree in a fluid-mechanics-focused field.
  • Experience designing for low mass, manufacturability, function, and cost, as well as collaborating with distributed global teams.
