TL;DR
Launch Fluids Engineer II (Aerospace fluid systems): Designing, fabricating, operating, and maintaining launch pad propellant and gas infrastructure for the Terran R rocket with an accent on fluid system design, thermal and fluid analyses, and commissioning. Focus on modeling, pipe stress analysis, process and instrumentation diagrams, and solving technically challenging problems across launch facilities and ground systems.

Location: On-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. Successful candidates must pass a U.S. government background check to obtain clearance for on-site work at a government partner location.

Salary: $104,000–$143,000 USD annually, plus equity.

hirify.global develops Terran R, a commercial launch vehicle designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit.

What you will do

  • Design, fabricate, operate, and maintain the Terran R launch pad and support facilities.
  • Design launch pad propellant and gas infrastructure, including fluid systems and related components.
  • Develop models, pipe stress analyses, fabrication drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, component lists, and work instructions.
  • Supervise facility construction activation, commissioning, and initial operations.
  • Solve technically challenging problems across multiple engineering disciplines and program phases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of combined engineering experience.
  • Experience with thermal and fluid analyses.
  • General experience with valves, regulators, instrumentation, and other fluid components.
  • Ability to clear a U.S. government background check for on-site work at the Cape Canaveral location.

Nice to have

  • Experience operating complex fluid systems involving high-pressure gas, cryogenic fluids, flammable liquids and gases, or hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle ground support equipment and operations, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with ANSYS and piping analysis software such as Caesar or Bentley AutoPIPE.
  • Experience working with DOD, USAF, or NASA personnel.
  • Problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines.
