Location: Onsite at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States; travel to production and launch locations may be required up to 10%.

Hiring range: $90,000–$136,000 USD per year, plus equity.

hirify.global develops Terran R, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit.

What you will do

  • Design, build, activate, maintain, and upgrade test stands for gas, liquid, and cryogenic systems, including P&IDs, analyses, component selection, and fabrication drawings.
  • Conduct test operations for high-energy components, rocket engines, and booster and upper stages while monitoring GUIs, cameras, automation, and telemetry.
  • Execute flight acceptance, qualification, and development test campaigns to validate designs and improve Terran R.
  • Prepare test articles through inspections, functional checks, leak checks, repairs, and post-test processing.
  • Author fabrication and test-article work instructions, coordinate with technicians and quality inspectors, and manage non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Improve procedures, control automation, data review, hardware flow, and facility processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to safely operate common power tools and a valid driver’s license for vehicles used on the test site.
  • Ability to deliver on tight schedules using unconventional and creative technical solutions.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for onsite work at the government partner location.
  • Operations and integration assignments typically require scheduled morning or evening shifts.

Nice to have

  • 3D modeling and drafting proficiency, including GD&T.
  • Engineering fundamentals in thermal-fluid systems and structures.
  • Hands-on fabrication experience with complex assemblies.
  • Experience with fluid components, large-scale fluid P&IDs, high-pressure gas, cryogenic fluids, flammables, or hydraulics.
  • Technical writing or documentation experience.
