Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure (AWS)

Location: New York, New York, United States; onsite

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 base per year, depending on skills and experience

What you will do

• Develop and maintain processes for building and deploying scalable, reliable software-defined networking solutions on AWS.
• Enhance the Kubernetes compute platform with AWS networking services and cloud-native networking capabilities, including service mesh integrations.
• Work with engineering teams to implement observability and network monitoring using tools such as Splunk and Datadog.
• Act as the infrastructure product owner by collecting engineering feedback, defining requirements, and addressing platform pain points.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure and platform development, software-defined networking, and AWS cloud services.
• Production software development experience with Python and strong knowledge of Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS.
• Experience with AWS networking and security services, including VPCs, security groups, NAT gateways, ALBs/ELBs, Route53, AWS Network Firewall, and AWS WAF.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, Linux systems, traditional networking appliances such as Palo Alto, Nginx, API gateways, and CDN or edge platforms such as Cloudflare or Fastly.
