Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States; relocation stipend available.

Salary: $160,000–$245,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Shape the technical direction of infrastructure and platform capabilities supporting AI healthcare products.
• Architect and evolve AWS-based cloud infrastructure across Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda, EC2, and data stores.
• Define infrastructure strategy, standards, roadmaps, and delivery priorities with engineering leadership.
• Secure networking, identity, and access patterns across environments while meeting healthcare compliance requirements.
• Improve reliability through SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident reviews, monitoring, logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Mentor engineers and improve developer experience through CI/CD workflows, automation, and internal tooling.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on infrastructure or platform development experience in modern cloud-native environments.
• Deep expertise with AWS and/or GCP, including networking, compute, storage, and managed services.
• Strong proficiency in Python or another programming or scripting language used for infrastructure work.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, container orchestration, and operating systems at scale.
• Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools, plus Git-based workflows and Linux debugging.
• Experience leading complex cross-team initiatives, communicating technical tradeoffs, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience in HIPAA-regulated environments, healthcare, or health tech.
• Platform or security engineering experience involving access control, encryption, auditability, and compliance.
• Experience with ML or data platforms such as Airflow, Ray, ML pipelines, or model serving stacks.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, New Relic, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability tools.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, SDKs, reusable frameworks, or scaling infrastructure at a fast-growing startup.
