Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: US Remote

Salary: $137,500–$171,900 USD per year, plus eligible additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive complex system design in collaboration with the architecture team.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable business applications and microservices APIs.
• Define requirements with stakeholders and guide technical implementation and engineering vision.
• Perform code reviews, mentor developers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Develop new functionality, maintain existing components, and improve software delivery processes.
• Support compliance initiatives and complete required HIPAA, privacy, security, and policy training.

Requirements

• BS degree in computer science, a comparable program, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software development experience, preferably building secure and scalable web applications with Java.
• Object-oriented programming experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate.
• Experience with microservice enterprise architecture, cross-platform integration, scalable applications, and software development lifecycle processes.
• Strong relational database design, optimization, and SQL programming skills, preferably with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS services, Docker or container technologies, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, Linux, and CI/CD.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS is preferred.
• Front-end development experience with React, Sass, JavaScript, Gulp, Rails, Bootstrap, HTML, and CSS.
