Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; Workplace: Hybrid

What you will do

• Develop sophisticated software with minimal supervision and contribute to interconnected system solutions.
• Design and build JSON and REST services, third-party API integrations, and distributed web applications.
• Fix complex bugs, perform advanced refactoring, and contribute to system design and technical documentation.
• Follow SDLC practices, including agile ceremonies, peer code reviews, technical release preparation, and testing.
• Partner with product and analytics to define requirements that address different stakeholders' needs.
• Mentor junior developers, review code, communicate complex concepts, and lead small to moderate projects where needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional Java development experience.
• Experience with Spring, AWS, microservices, SQL, NoSQL, Git, Docker or other containers, and OS X and Linux environments.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, API security, design patterns, object-oriented programming, and application lifecycle processes.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development, functional testing, large-scale or distributed applications, and third-party or AWS APIs.
• Intermediate knowledge of React Native, React, JavaScript, and Node, plus experience with iOS or Android development and the NPM and Webpack lifecycle.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience; project leadership and mentoring experience are valuable.
