Commercial Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex customer and vendor agreements for banking products, including payments, lending, and deposit accounts.
• Develop and maintain legal playbooks, templates, and disclosures to enable platform scalability.
• Lead negotiations with high-growth fintechs and enterprise customers while balancing commercial and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Sales, Risk, and Compliance teams to define deal structures and risk-based contracting strategies.
• Support the legal team with regulatory advice, exam management, and corporate governance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with preference for fintech or technology transactions background.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, CA.
• Hybrid role requiring 3–4+ days per week in the Presidio office.
• Proven ability to independently drive complex commercial negotiations and manage multiple initiatives.
• Strong understanding of contract law and commercial transactions.

Nice to have

• Understanding of traditional commercial banking products (ACH, wires, lending, cards, cash management).
• Experience in structured finance.
• Knowledge of money transmission regulations.
