Assistant Sourcing Manager (Furniture)

Location: Onsite 5 days per week at the office in New York City, United States; periodic travel to supplier locations and up to 15% domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, dependent on experience.

What you will do

• Support sourcing and vendor management for upholstered furniture, including supplier identification, evaluation, onboarding, and business reviews across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
• Coordinate RFPs, compare proposals, support negotiations, and track contracts, purchase orders, samples, and deliverables.
• Maintain bills of materials and gather cost data for frames, foam, fabrics, hardware, packaging, labor, and other production inputs.
• Coordinate packaging specifications, custom packaging orders, logistics, and efficient and sustainable packing of finished goods.
• Use AI-enabled search platforms and market databases for supplier discovery, cost analysis, and market research.
• Facilitate communication among sourcing, design, product development, operations, and suppliers while supporting sample reviews, quality, durability, ethical standards, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply-Chain Management, Business, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply-chain management, preferably in furniture or consumer goods.
• Familiarity with furniture construction, materials, and the cost contribution of raw materials, labor, and packaging.
• Experience maintaining bills of materials and working with ERP/MRP systems or advanced spreadsheets.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and deadline-management skills.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice to have

• Experience in furniture or consumer-goods sourcing.
• AI proficiency or openness to learning AI-driven tools for supplier discovery, cost analysis, and market research.
