Assistant Sourcing Manager - Furniture

Location: Onsite five days per week at the office in New York City, United States, with domestic and international travel to supplier locations up to 15% of the time.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, dependent upon experience.

What you will do

• Support vendor management and sourcing by identifying and evaluating upholstered-furniture manufacturers and material suppliers across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
• Maintain supplier databases, organize business reviews, and support supplier onboarding.
• Coordinate RFPs, compare proposals, support sample-price and terms negotiations, track contract deliverables, and manage purchase orders and sample requests.
• Maintain detailed bills of materials and gather cost inputs for frames, foam, fabrics, hardware, and packaging to support cost analysis and budgeting.
• Coordinate packaging specifications, custom packaging orders, supplier communication, and efficient and sustainable packing of finished goods.
• Collaborate with design, product development, operations, and suppliers on samples, materials, costs, lead times, quality, workmanship, durability, and ethical and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply-Chain Management, Business, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply-chain management, preferably in furniture or consumer goods.
• Familiarity with furniture construction and materials, including how raw materials, labor, and packaging contribute to finished-goods pricing.
• Experience maintaining bills of materials and working with ERP/MRP systems or advanced spreadsheets.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and leverage AI-driven tools for supplier discovery, cost analysis, and market research.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.
