TL;DR
Avionics Production Engineer (II or III) (Spacecraft Manufacturing): Building and supporting mechanical and electrical spacecraft assemblies with an accent on production continuity, hardware fabrication, configuration control, and quality compliance. Focus on generating work instructions, resolving non-compliance reports, managing ground support equipment calibration, and improving assembly processes for classified space hardware.

Location: Fully onsite at the Centennial, Colorado office

Base salary: $75,000–$120,000 for Level II; $90,000–$155,000 for Level III, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Generate work instructions for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Support production operations and provide engineering assistance to technicians.
  • Generate non-compliance reports, investigate issues, and execute approved dispositions through resolution.
  • Manage calibration and certification of mechanical and electrical ground support equipment.
  • Implement process improvements and corrective actions to increase production efficiency.
  • Support design engineering with manufacturing expertise, drawings, SOPs, and spacecraft assembly kits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience for Level II or 4+ years for Level III.
  • Experience with PLM, MES, configuration management, and data management systems.
  • Experience working with AS9100 processes and standards, hands-on hardware, and fabrication methods.
  • Experience building and producing classified hardware in SCIFs or SAP facilities.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance and meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience building space hardware, including fluid systems, structures, harnessing, or PCBAs.
