TL;DR
Avionics Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Creating manufacturing documentation, tooling instructions, and test procedures for electrical and avionics subsystems on reusable carrier and hypersonic vehicles with an accent on production integration, shop-floor support, and aerospace standards. Focus on troubleshooting ground-test issues, integrating complex aerospace systems, and verifying producibility across cost and schedule constraints.

Location: On-site in Mojave, California, United States; travel estimated at less than 5% as needed.

Base salary: $83,000–$120,500 for Level I, $98,100–$128,700 for Level II, $117,000–$153,500 for Senior Level, or $152,500–$200,000 for Staff Level per year.

Company

hirify.global develops reusable air-launched Talon testbeds and hypersonic flight-testing platforms that provide data for validating aerospace systems and advancing national security technologies.

What you will do

  • Create work instructions, drawings, tooling documentation, and process documentation for fabricating, installing, testing, and modifying electrical and avionics subsystems.
  • Support electrical shop operations as an engineering liaison by resolving documentation issues, explaining manufacturing standards, and redlining released documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and avionics ground-test issues and develop test plans and procedures.
  • Support hypersonic vehicle integrated testing, avionics design activities, and integration of complex aerospace systems.
  • Reference 3D CAD models in 2D documentation and contribute to shop layout, setup, and process improvements.
  • Evaluate technical data and engineering requirements to estimate fabrication time, producibility, cost, and schedule.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent education and experience, with 0–20 years of engineering experience depending on level.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, avionics, experimental aircraft, or launch vehicle integration.
  • Experience with aerospace production drawings, work orders, shop work instructions, PDM systems, engineering controls, and revision-control release processes.
  • Experience integrating aircraft or launch-vehicle electrical power systems and installing aircraft electrical systems.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, multimeters, AC/DC power supplies, signal generators, 3D CAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work on-site in Mojave, California, communicate technical guidance to varied audiences, and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to have

  • Security clearance.
  • Experience with Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, LabVIEW, or Jira.

Culture & Benefits

  • 9/80 work schedule.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription-drug healthcare coverage.
  • Paid maternity and parental leave.
  • 50% company match per contributed dollar into a 401(k), up to $11,500.
