Director of Procurement

Location: Chicago, United States. Hybrid position requiring three days of in-office collaboration per week and two remote days.

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead strategic sourcing, vendor selection, and complex enterprise contract negotiations across SaaS, Telecom, Market Data, CapEx, and OpEx categories.
• Develop procurement roadmaps and lead vendor rationalization, consolidation, and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Oversee vendor due diligence, financial and compliance reviews, KPI frameworks, audits, and M&A procurement integration.
• Standardize contractor engagement, SOW, onboarding, purchase requisition, purchase order, renewal, and offboarding processes.
• Partner with the Controller and FP&A on budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, accruals, invoice-to-pay workflows, and financial reporting.
• Drive procurement governance, third-party data protection, contract compliance, executive dashboards, savings reporting, and cash-flow forecasting.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, and vendor management experience in high-growth technology, finance, or corporate environments.
• Advanced experience negotiating complex agreements covering SaaS, global Telecom infrastructure, financial Market Data, CapEx, and OpEx.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end M&A procurement integration and large-scale vendor consolidation projects.
• Advanced hands-on proficiency with Coupa, NetSuite, and Ironclad.
• Strong knowledge of third-party risk management, data security frameworks, and privacy regulations including GDPR, SOC 2, and ISO standards.
• Ability to work in a hybrid Chicago-based arrangement with three required office days per week.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or master’s degree is a plus.
• CPSM or CIPP certification.
• Experience with sustainable and ethical sourcing, ABAC, anti-modern-slavery controls, and ESG criteria.
• Advanced contract law knowledge, financial acumen, and experience influencing C-suite stakeholders.
