FPGA Manager (Space)

Location: San Diego, California; 100% onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Salary: $165,000–$215,000 USD base salary per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, simulate, integrate, and test FPGA designs for space communication systems.
• Implement resampling, filtering, mixing, and error-correction algorithms across FPGA technologies and platforms.
• Optimize designs for speed, performance, and resource utilization, followed by thorough hardware validation.
• Oversee engineering team operations, project execution, resource allocation, and workload balance.
• Support internal and external design reviews with technical documentation.
• Participate in proposals, trade studies, and reviews of statements of work, technical requirements, data requirements, and compliance statements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of industry experience implementing complex, high-speed FPGA designs for high-throughput algorithms.
• Experience leading high-performing technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with FPGA design, integration, and testing, preferably with Xilinx and Microsemi RTG4.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable ITAR and EAR regulations and be eligible for required export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience designing qualified FPGA or hardware for space.
• Experience engaging government and commercial customers on engineering projects and initiatives.
