Location: Long Beach, California, United States; hybrid work with some work required on site. Candidates must be located near Long Beach, CA. The role is subject to U.S. Government ITAR requirements, requiring U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
Salary: $85,000–$105,000 for Production Engineer 1; $100,000–$120,000 for Production Engineer 2; $125,000–$155,000 for Production Engineer 3; $140,000–$175,000 for Senior Production Engineer.

What you will do
- Set up and scale spacecraft avionics manufacturing capabilities for developmental programs and rate production.
- Develop work instructions for assembly, integration, and testing of flight computers, power systems, RF and communications hardware, harnesses, and ground support equipment.
- Support production-floor activities, remove bottlenecks, and troubleshoot technical issues affecting avionics hardware builds.
- Generate and resolve non-compliance reports through root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Oversee calibration and certification of electrical ground support and functional test equipment.
- Collaborate with design engineering on manufacturability feedback, schematics, assembly drawings, process flows, and test procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability systems.
- Experience with PLM, MES, configuration management, and data management systems.
- Experience working with AS9100 processes and standards, hands-on hardware, and fabrication methods.
- Experience building and producing classified hardware in SCIFs or SAP facilities.
- Must be located near Long Beach, California, work on site when required, and meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience designing, manufacturing, and testing spacecraft avionics components such as flight computers, IMUs, power distribution units, RF systems, and cable harnesses.
- Experience with spacecraft electrical integration, harness routing, connector interface control, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Background in functional, environmental, and qualification testing, including thermal-vacuum, EMI/EMC, and vibration testing.
- Experience with software loading, firmware configuration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
