Property Claims Adjuster II (Austin, TX - WFH)

Location: Austin, Texas and surrounding areas; work from home with day travel to policy locations an average of 3–4 days per week. The role includes onsite and virtual inspections, occasional overnight travel, catastrophe duty, and possible support for additional territories.

Salary: $62,500–$115,500 annually; expected starting range: $62,500–$93,500.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and in person.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims practices, and make decisions within delegated authority.
• Prepare estimates, manage reserves, and handle claims from initial assignment through resolution.
• Conduct property inspections, including rooftop inspections, and maintain knowledge of local repair procedures and market pricing.
• Identify fraud and subrogation opportunities and coordinate with Special Investigations and Subrogation teams.
• Provide clear guidance and service to policyholders, claimants, repair professionals, attorneys, and agents.

Requirements

• Three to five years of property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience with Xactimate and writing independent estimates.
• Construction experience in residential work, roofing, remodeling, or water mitigation.
• Ability to safely access and inspect rooftops, including first- and second-story roofs with pitches up to 8/12.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and willingness to work irregular hours, travel, and support catastrophe claims.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; required state licensing and claims certifications must be completed where applicable.

• Customer service experience involving flexible schedules and extended work hours.
• Ability to provide leadership to less experienced claims associates.

Hiring process

• Xactimate Level 1 certification must be obtained within one year of starting, and Level 2 within two years.
