Property Claims Adjuster II (Field Claims Specialist, Property)

Location: Texas, covering Austin and surrounding areas. Work from home with field travel to policy locations an average of 3–4 days per week, onsite and virtual inspections, occasional overnight travel, and possible relocation assistance for qualified candidates living more than 50 miles outside the territory.

Salary: $62,500–$93,500 expected starting range; national range $62,500–$115,500 per year.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and through face-to-face inspections.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims practices, and manage reserves through the full claim lifecycle.
• Write repair requirements and cost estimates using Xactimate and local market pricing.
• Conduct property inspections, including rooftops, and work in office, field, and outdoor environments.
• Identify fraud and subrogation opportunities in partnership with Special Investigations and Subrogation teams.
• Prepare severe incident, reinsurance, lawsuit, trial, and subrogation documentation as needed.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Strong Xactimate experience and the ability to write estimates and handle claims from start to finish.
• Construction experience in residential work, roofing, remodeling, water mitigation, or a related area.
• Strong customer service, written communication, verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and inspect first- and second-story rooftops with pitches up to 8/12, work in all weather, and travel as required.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and availability for catastrophe duty, irregular hours, and possible on-call work are required.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Customer service experience involving flexible schedules and extended work hours.
• State claims licensing where required.
