Service Support Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own fleet-wide root cause analysis for systemic failures across deployed robotic products.
• Form hypotheses, design validation protocols, and perform hands-on bench and field testing.
• Produce formal RCA reports covering evidence, causal chains, validated root causes, and corrective actions.
• Develop and deploy preventive maintenance schedules, procedures, task descriptions, and intervals for SlipBot and SlipLift autonomous loading robots.
• Track maintenance execution and compliance across customer sites, updating procedures as new failure modes emerge.
• Partner with Diagnostic Engineering, Quality, Field Maintenance, Field Engineering, Engineering, and Manufacturing to drive corrective actions to verified closure.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in reliability engineering, sustaining engineering, field service engineering, or a related technical role with strong failure-analysis experience.
• Experience with structured root cause analysis methods such as 8D, FMEA, fishbone/Ishikawa, or 5-Why, including formal RCA documentation.
• Hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform independent bench-level validation.
• Ability to design and execute hypothesis-driven test plans.
• Strong technical writing skills for RCA reports, preventive maintenance procedures, and failure documentation.
• Ability to build processes and structure in an environment where established infrastructure is absent.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, industrial automation, warehouse automation, EV systems, or hardware-as-a-service products deployed at customer sites.
• Experience building or formalizing preventive maintenance programs for field teams.
• Familiarity with fleet monitoring tools, telemetry data, and operational dashboards.
• Experience in reliability or sustaining functions within operations or field services organizations.
• Proficiency with Jira, Zendesk, Confluence, or similar ticketing and documentation platforms.
