Field Service Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Onsite in Salem, New Hampshire, USA; regional travel within Massachusetts at 30–40% and occasional travel across North America.

Salary: $71,000–$97,900 annually, plus medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO and other benefits.

What you will do

• Monitor system performance, alarms, operational metrics and reliability trends across customer locations.
• Lead root cause investigations for recurring issues using structured methods such as 8D problem solving.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for equipment, controls, software and system performance issues.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, HMIs, robotics, conveyors, control panels, motors, sensors and other automation equipment.
• Partner with hardware, software, systems engineering and operations teams to implement corrective actions and improve uptime.
• Support customers during disruptions, mentor technicians, maintain technical documentation and assist with launches, upgrades and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience supporting automated systems in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing or material-handling environments.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair experience with PLCs, HMIs, conveyors, robotic systems, electrical circuitry, control panels, motors, sensors and automation hardware.
• Experience supporting live operational environments where equipment uptime affects production or fulfillment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, breakdown response, equipment recovery, CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout, electrical safety, machine guarding, working at heights and conveyor safety standards.

Nice to have

• OSHA, NFPA 70E, electrical safety or vendor-specific automation certifications.
