Mid/Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Location: Concord, California, United States; based in the Concord office. Relocation assistance is provided.

Salary: $111,000–$197,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Manage and implement a wide range of fire protection consulting projects.
• Complete assigned work on schedule and within budget while meeting client expectations.
• Conduct building and fire code reviews, plan reviews, site visits, and field analyses.
• Prepare and peer review technical project reports.
• Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based designs, and alternative solutions for complex design issues.
• Communicate with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders while supporting business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, preferably fire protection engineering, architecture, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in building code and fire protection consulting.
• Experience developing building code concepts and equivalencies, reviewing building plans, and conducting field inspections.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and present technically sound fire protection engineering strategies.
• Client connections and the ability to develop new business are expected for the “Doer Seller” profile.

Nice to have

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in fire protection engineering.
• NICET Level IV or another professional designation in fire protection.
• Experience with sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, hazardous materials, or project management.
