Site Selection Manager (Data Center) — EMEA

Location: Remote in Europe; frequent travel across EMEA, with on-site or in-market work expected 2–3 weeks per month during active searches.

What you will do

• Identify and evaluate powered land plots and power shell opportunities across EMEA, with an immediate focus on the Nordics.
• Assess power capacity, grid connection timelines, substation proximity, cooling feasibility, fiber connectivity, land potential, and planning risks during site visits.
• Build and maintain a qualified EMEA pipeline categorized by readiness, power availability, and strategic fit.
• Lead site shortlisting and commercial evaluations, scoring opportunities against technical and financial criteria and preparing recommendations for leadership.
• Manage pre-acquisition processes from shortlist to signing in coordination with Legal, Construction, Finance, and external advisors.
• Develop relationships with landowners, developers, utilities, grid operators, brokers, and local planning authorities while monitoring market activity.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data center site selection, critical infrastructure real estate, or power infrastructure development, with hands-on EMEA experience and a record of closed deals.
• Direct experience sourcing and transacting powered land or power shell assets, including grid connection agreements, DNO/TSO timelines, substation capacity, and planning constraints.
• Strong knowledge of Nordic and UK markets, including grid connection processes, DNO relationships, planning frameworks, and the powered land competitive landscape.
• Ability to work independently, conduct site visits and analysis, manage broker relationships, and drive transactions through completion.
• Strong commercial and analytical judgment, including the ability to model trade-offs and make clear recommendations.
• Willingness to travel frequently across EMEA, with 2–3 weeks per month on-site or in-market during active searches.

Nice to have

• Direct Nordic market experience and relationships with Nordic and European landowners, developers, grid advisors, and real estate brokers.
• Experience with renewable energy infrastructure, including hydropower proximity, PPA availability, and carbon-intensity considerations.
• Experience evaluating high-density GPU or HPC sites, including infrastructure implications of 140kW+ per rack requirements.
• Background in Sweden, Finland, or Norway, where power cost, cooling opportunities, and renewable credentials differ from Western European markets.
